F1 2025 Canadian Grand Prix weather forecast – Latest from Montreal

f1-2025-canadian-grand-prix-weather-forecast-–-latest-from-montreal

The 10th round of the 2025 F1 world championship takes place this weekend, with the Canadian Grand Prix taking centre stage.

Following a controversial incident at the Spanish GP, Max Verstappen heads to Montreal 49 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri, and will have a point to prove in Canada.

However, the Dutchman will also need to be on his best behaviour, due to the fact that he is one penalty point away from a one-race ban from F1, something that would surely be fatal for his chances of claiming a fifth consecutive world title.

Elsewhere, Lewis Hamilton also faces a crucial weekend, following two dismal performances in a row for the seven-time world champion, who is sat all the way down in sixth in the drivers’ championship after nine race weekends.

Hamilton now heads to a track where he has never finished outside the top five in a grand prix, hoping not to break his positive run at the circuit.

Montreal is currently dealing with the aftermath of a series of wildfires in the region and despite fears the unhealthy air quality and visibility from the wildfires could impact the race, GPFans understands there will be no risk posed to the event, with the grand prix set to go ahead as usual.

So how is the weather looking ahead of the action this weekend? Read on to find out, and be sure to keep checking back to this page for daily updates!

Canadian Grand Prix weather forecast

Friday, June 13 – Practice

The F1 action in Canada kicks off on Friday June 13 with two practice sessions. FP1 gets us underway at 1:30pm local time (EDT), with the afternoon set for some fine, sunny conditions.

Temperatures will be sat at around 17 degrees Celsius throughout the session, while there is a zero per cent chance of rain under the mostly clear skies.

Winds will be almost non-existent at the track during Friday’s two sessions, meaning drivers will be able to find their braking points around the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit with relative ease.

FP2 takes place later in the day, at 5pm local time, with more cloud beginning to roll in ahead of rainfall on Friday night. However, there is a zero per cent chance of rain during the actual session, with temperatures rising to 18 degrees Celsius under the cloudy skies.

Saturday, June 14 – Qualifying

The final practice session of the weekend will take place before all-important qualifying on Saturday, with FP3 kicking off at 12:30pm local time.

Saturday early afternoon will see very similar weather to Friday’s weather forecast, with sunny spells throughout and a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius.

There’s a small chance of a shower during FP3, but it will likely be light and not last very long, if any rain does fall at all.

That chance of rain completely dissipates once more as the first competitive session gets underway with qualifying at 4pm.

The later start time will see higher temperatures than FP3, with 19 degrees Celsius forecast, while the lack of wind will make it feel warmer for fans and drivers around the circuit under sunny skies.

Sunday, June 15 – Race

Following the slight chance of rain on Saturday, race day could also bring an element of uncertainty to proceedings at the track, despite being the warmest of the three days.

The main event of the weekend has a start time of 2pm local time on Sunday when there is currently an 18 per cent chance of rain hitting the circuit.

That chance of precipitation increases as the race goes on, while temperatures are set to hit around 22 degrees Celsius, making for humid, damp conditions.

Wind speeds once again remain low on Sunday and, on the whole, the day will see plenty of sunshine.

Max Verstappen’s partner Kelly Piquet has made a heartwarming slip-up in her first media appearance since the birth of her daughter Lily.

Piquet and Verstappen first made Lewis Hamilton holds key meeting as Red Bull driver swap discussed

Whilst Verstappen and Piquet are one of the most established couples in the F1 paddock, the pair are yet to reveal whether marriage is on the cards – and if their lavish Monaco lifestyle is anything to go by their wedding would be quite the event.

However, Piquet seemed to suggest the couple had already tied the knot, as she made a slip-up in her first media appearance since giving birth to Lily in May, during a visit to the iconference where she gave a talk on ‘Influence & Power of Digital Storytelling.’

“I breathe motorsport. That is something very natural for me. Eventually I married a Formula 1 driver,” Piquet said in conversation with TV network TVI.

The 36-year-old quickly corrected herself and clarified, “I mean I’m not married yet!” ruling out a secret Verstappen-Piquet wedding in between grands prix.

Piquet makes first appearance since daughter’s birth

Piquet also opened up on it being her first appearance following Lily’s birth, and confirmed that her focus over the summer will be her family.

“Yes, six weeks ago. It was hard to get here today,” she said.

“It will be the only work I will do this summer. I’m going to take my time before returning and doing a lot of work.”

Verstappen himself has provided a glimpse into his family life following the birth of his daughter, joking that their home is now like a zoo with the added chaos of four pets in the household.

Piquet and Verstappen own a sausage dog called Nino, and three cats – Jimmy, Sassy and Donatello – with the champion admitting that the cats keep trying to get in the baby stroller.

The motorsport community have also continued to express their well wishes to the couple, with the Automobile Club de Monaco gifting Lily her very own ride-on race car to celebrate her birth.
