Lewis Hamilton trashes F1 rivals…and he has a point

Published

lewis-hamilton-trashes-f1-rivals…and-he-has-a-point

Lewis Hamilton has named himself the most stylish driver in F1 history, and said that nobody’s ever come close to challenging him for the title.

It’s been a rough year on the track for the seven-time world champion, but he’s still undefeated sartorially – and he knows it.

Hamilton’s efforts in the fashion world haven’t gone unnoticed, launching a clothing like with Tommy Hilfiger back in 2018 and stepping up his interest in that sphere ever since – even co-chairing the Met Gala this year, with the theme of ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’.

A number of other drivers on the grid largely wear garments related to their teams or business interests (try and find a picture of Max Verstappen not wearing AlphaTauri gear in 2025, seriously), or prefer the smart-casual uniform of the obscenely rich, leaving Hamilton without much competition in the serious style stakes.

Hamilton: Two drivers do a good job with their style

Hamilton did namecheck a couple of other drivers when talking to Complex recently, admitting that departing Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda ‘does a good job’, and calling Ferrari reserve driver Zhou Guanyu ‘quite stylish’.

Asked straight out if he was the ‘drippiest driver in F1 history’, he answered: “Uh, for sure. It’s not like it’s even close, that one. None of them even tried in the past. So, you know, so it’s a little bit of a home run in that sense. But the drivers are now starting to…trying to step their game up, yeah.

He continued: “I mean, I don’t pay a huge amount of attention. I would say Yuki does a good job. And there’s one more, Zhou. Zhou is quite stylish as well. Yeah, I would say that’s it.”

Fans of Hamilton’s paddock fits can expect to see them for some time to come – with the 40-year-old signed with Ferrari for another two seasons at least.

Leclerc becomes a boomer after

Published

leclerc-becomes-a-boomer-after

Ferrari F1 star Charles Leclerc has shed light on a rather trivial complaint he made regarding the Red Bull garage.

It seems the Scuderia’s abysmal form in this year’s F1 championship has finally gotten to Leclerc, triggering his grumpy old man era.

In a video shared to Ferrari’s social media with the caption: “Just passing on a message @redbullracing”, Leclerc was joined by the team’s reserve driver Zhou Guanyu, where the pair shared their opinion that Red Bull need to turn down the volume when listening to music in their garage.

Former Sauber driver Zhou kicked off the complaint, saying: “Every day I get to the track and start listening to DJs.”

Leclerc then did his best boomer impression, adding: “I agree Zhou! I’m going to complain officially now.

“The Red Bull team is putting way too loud the music in the garage. So if you could please tune it down so we can focus.”

Red Bull’s rowdy reputation

Former Red Bull mechanic Calum Nicholas has spoken publicly in the past of the team’s reputation as the noisiest team in the paddock, explaining that the energy drink giants are rather fittingly known for having a massive sound system setup at race weekends.

Though Nicholas has now stepped away from his role in the garage to live what is probably fair to assume is a quieter life, it seems the tradition of blaring music in the garage has not changed at Red Bull.

The six-time constructors’ champions took Leclerc’s complaint very seriously and after Ferrari posted the video, Red Bull responded with a handy solution.

When Leclerc entered into the Qatar GP paddock this weekend, he was met by a team member, presumably Red Bull’s social media admin, who playfully handed him a pair of earplugs to deal with the issue.

Red Bull posted Leclerc’s reaction to the jokey gesture where two pictures showed the Monegasque driver looking rather amused with the gift.

The team’s caption read: “Cos we’re such good neighbours.”

FIA punish racing star for taking to the track without telling them

Published

fia-punish-racing-star-for-taking-to-the-track-without-telling-them

The FIA have announced a punishment for F2 driver Sebastian Montoya ahead of this weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix.

The race weekend at Lusail International Circuit marks the penultimate round in both the F2 and F1 2025 campaigns, with a thrilling title fight set to conclude in both championships.

Montoya, who is the son of seven-time grand prix winner Juan Pablo Montoya, currently sits in 10th in the F2 standings in his maiden campaign in the feeder series.

However, he did not have an ideal start to the weekend in Qatar where he competed for Prema Racing.

After receiving a report from the FIA, the stewards announced that Montoya failed to inform the promoter and the FIA of a recent single-seater testing activity in GB3, and as a result, will have to pay a fine of €10,000.

Payment for the fine which was caused by an admin error must be transferred to the FIA within 48 hours.

Montoya hit by FIA fine ahead of Qatar GP

A statement from the FIA read: “The stewards examined the report received from the FIA and an email from Prema. They summoned and heard the driver and team representative. The FIA Head of F2 and F3 Sporting Matters reported that the driver of Car 9 (Montoya) took part in a GB3 test at Snetterton on 23 & 24 September 2025.

“He also explained that neither the competitor nor the driver informed the FIA about this single-seater activity. The promoter representative confirmed that he was not informed of the single-seater activity of the driver of Car 9.

“The driver of Car 9 explained that his management team organised the test session at Snetterton and there was a miscommunication with his team. The team representative explained that he was unaware of the driver’s participation in the GB3 test at Snetterton until after it had taken place.

“Having considered the matter extensively, the stewards determined that this was an administrative error by the driver, who failed to inform his team and the FIA and promoter about the single-seater activity as required by Article 10.5 of the Sporting Regulations.

“Consistent with a previous decision, the Stewards decided to impose a €10,000 fine.”

Article 10.5 of the FIA F2 regulations states: “In order that an FIA observer may be appointed, competitors or drivers must inform the promoter and FIA of any planned single seater activity at least seven days before it is due to commence.”

Drivers are then also required to inform the governing body of the specification of the car they will be driving, the name of the driver(s), the nature and location of the activity, the date(s) and intended duration of the activity and the purpose of the activity.

This is not the first time this season that the 20-year-old has been caught out by a bizarre rule, with the stewards also fining Montoya’s Prema team €500 after his physio failed to wear long trousers in the pit lane.
