Manager Sean Dyche is now without a job as Everton, under their new guidance of owners Friedkin Group, have taken action on shocking recent results and have decided to sack the former Burnley and Watford boss.

New owners Friedkin Group aim to turn things around

Fans will be hoping the club’s new guidance under the American billionaire Dan Friedkin and his organisation’s stewardship can steer the Merseyside side out of relegation-battle misery, with many wishing for a high-profile managerial appointment to succeed the outgoing Dyche and bring some much needed promise to the struggling team.

With Everton currently sitting toward the bottom of the Premier League, just one point above the drop zone, Sean Dyche’s sacking will come as no surprise. The decision by the owners of the club to terminate Dyche’s contract will be initiated right away, with an interim management team now spearheaded by former club stalwart Leighton Baines and current club captain Seamus Coleman.

All eyes will be on the new duo at the helm of the club who have scored the second fewest goals in the league this season, as they have just hours to prepare their team for a home tie in the FA Cup third round against Peterborough.

David Moyes rumoured to link up with former club

Graham Potter had previously been linked with a move to the club, but the manager has now settled as new West Ham boss replacing Julen Lopetegui, as rumours of a Goodison Park return for David Moyes circulate.

An official club statement given on Thursday, January 9 by Everton Football Club stated: “Everton can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as senior men’s first team manager with immediate effect. Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the club.”

Full-back pair to be in interim charge

Baines, who has been overseeing the under 18s side this season, will coordinate with captain Seamus Coleman and aim to take Everton to a safe spot in the Premier League whilst the club begin their search for a new manager.

Sean Dyche managed less than two years as boss of Everton, with disappointing results marked by keeping their place in the premier league on the last day of the 2023/24 season, however gave fans something to smile about when he ensured a first Merseyside derby win since 2010 as Everton beat rivals Liverpool 2-0 last season.

This season has spelled nothing short of disaster for Everton, and with fans frustrated at recent results, a glimmer of hope arises that with a fresh face in charge, things can finally start to look up for the Toffees.

Although there is no history of successful Dutch rock groups outside of the Netherlands, there is still plenty of export money to be made from current trends.

Looking back, it’s hard to find more than a handful of successful Dutch rock bands that were successful outside of their homeland with probably Alquin, Focus, Golden Earring,  Shocking Blue and Supersister making up that that handful.

The Netherlands earned record foreign income from House Music performances in 2024

Where the Dutch are currently particularly strong is in the area of House Music and according to research commissioned by Buma Cultuur, this genre represented foreign earnings of €136 million in 2024 which accounts for 62 per cent of the grand total of €220 million.

This total figure represents a new record and beat the 2018 record by 11 per cent with the top four Dutch DJs and producers appearing outside of the Netherlands on 410 occasions in 2024 with the most in demand being Franky Rizardo.

It’s not just House Music that is popular as  performances by André Rieu were in great demand around the world

One of the more traditional Dutch musicians, violinist and conductor André Rieu proved to be very popular with foreign audiences and although he performed more than once a week outside of the Netherlands, he has also earned an enormous amount from TV and DVD recordings of his massively popular concerts.

Until Brexit, the UK probably earned more overseas performance earnings than any other European country but although the top performers such as Elton John, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran can still afford to tour internationally, new rules and regulations have made it increasingly difficult for up and coming artists to take part in many European events.
