Spain’s state weather agency is warning of highs exceeding 38C across Spain, with yellow alerts active for Andalucia, the Canary Islands and Catalunya.

SPAIN’s weather agency has issued orange alerts for Sevilla, Cordoba, Huelva, Cadiz and Jaen on Monday.
The 45.7C peak, recorded in El Granado, Huelva, ties the national September heat record previously set in Montoro, Cordoba, exactly a decade ago in 2016.
AEMET, put the season around 2.5C above the seasonal average nationwide — beating the previous record, which had only been set the year before, in 2025.
Yellow heat warnings are also in place across inland Cadiz, Huelva, and interior Granada, where the mercury is forecast to hit between 36C and 38C.
