Wagner Group financier Yevgeny Prigozhin is reportedly beginning to close in on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s role just hours after his mobilisation announcement, as reported on Thursday, September 22.

Video footage of Wagner Group financier Prigozhin taking over Putin’s role was shared on Twitter by Bulgarian journalist Christo Grozev:

“Prigozhin continues leaking videos of him in commander-in-chief role (on this one, doing that 3 am meeting your commanders thing.”

“Wagnerites tell me they’d vote for him over Putin any time, and it seems to me he smells blood.”

The ISW previously backed up the claim that Putin was being replaced by Wagner Group financier Yevgeny Prigozhin as the face of the Russian war by stating that “Prigozhin gave a recruitment speech on September 14 announcing that Russian prisoners have been participating in the war since July 1 when they were instrumental in seizing the Vuhlehirska Thermal Power Plant.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilisation in the Russian Federation, as reported on Wednesday, September 21.

The news follows a massive stock market crash on the Russian stock exchange taking place following the announcement of various referendums including in the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, as reported on Tuesday, September 20.

Jerzy Urban, the official spokesperson of the communist regime in Poland between 1981-1989, dies aged 89, according to reports on Monday, October 3.

Jerzy Urban, who was infamous for the press conferences after the introduction of martial law on December 13, 1981, during which 100 dissidents were killed, has died.

He was appointed a member of the Council of Ministers in April 1989. He held this position for six months. He also chaired the Radio and Television Committee “Polskie Radio i Telewizja”.

After the political transformation, already in the Third Polish Republic, Urban took up the position of editor-in-chief of “Tygodnik NIE”. He was also the owner of the Urma company which issued it.

The information about the death was confirmed to the media by Urban’s wife, Małgorzata Daniszewska.

“Jerzy Urban passed away. A controversial figure. Some hated him, others loved him. It must be admitted, however, that as a spokesman for communist governments, he did not even lie close to the PiS propaganda,” another said.

Odszedł Jerzy Urban. Postać kontrowersyjna. Jedni go nienawidzili, inni kochali.

Trzeba jednak przyznać, że jako rzecznik komunistycznych rządów nawet nie zbliżył się w kłamstwie do propagandy PiS.

A student who allegedly intended to ‘carry out a massacre’ in a Moscow university was detained by Russia’s FSB security services.

According to Vladimir Zernov, the rector of the Russian New University (RosNOU), FSB operatives in  Moscow today, Sunday, October 2, detained a first-year university student who ‘behaved defiantly and made threats’. This news was also posted on the university’s website.

Zernov said that 18-year-old Oleg Zhuravlev intended to ‘carry out a massacre’ within the walls of the university. He claimed that several classmates of Zhuravlev had informed him about the aggressive behaviour the student had been displaying recently.

As a result, the university management passed this information to the special services to investigate. “We have always been very responsible for all the anxieties and fears of our students, and the current situation requires us to be especially vigilant”, Zernov explained. He added that Zhuravlev had been detained and is currently in police custody in Moscow.

It had been reported earlier in the day that a second-year student had been caught trying to bring an air pistol and knives into another university in the capital city, as reported by gazeta.ru.
