Torremolinos is preparing to put its multicultural character on full display later this month as the town hosts the XXX Resident’s Days in La Carihuela.

The event will take place in Plaza del Remo on the new dates of April 17, 18 and 19, bringing together almost 20 nationalities for a weekend of food, crafts, music and folklore. Entry will be free, with organisers inviting everyone to enjoy the celebrations.

Event goers can experience many things from a number of different nationalities

Resident’s Days has become a well-known date with locals in the area, giving the opportunity to the different international communities living in Torremolinos to share part of their culture with the wider public. This year’s edition will once again feature a lively mix of traditional foods and drinks, artisan products and musical performances, reflecting the cosmopolitan atmosphere in Torremolinos.

The Plaza del Remo is planned to be divided into two separate areas during the mammoth three-day celebration. One will focus on crafts, while the other will centre on gastronomy and live music, creating a festival atmosphere in one of Torremolinos’ best-known seaside areas.

Visitors will be able to sample typical dishes, browse handmade goods and enjoy traditional performances from the participating groups. The aim is not only to provide entertainment, but also to give greater visibility to the foreign residents who form an important part of life in the municipality.

Torremolinos is known for its international appeal

This area of the Costa Del Sol has long been known for its international appeal, and the event is designed to show that identity while encouraging coexistence and cultural exchange. With so many nationalities represented, the celebration is expected to offer a colourful snapshot of the different communities that now call the town home.

Among the associations and groups taking part are representatives linked to the Netherlands, Mexico, Argentina, Germany, Chile, Puerto Rico, Peru, Morocco, Ecuador, China and Bolivia, alongside other organisations and community groups based in the area.

The event will be open from 11am to 11pm on April 17 and 18, and from 11am to 5pm on April 19.

For anyone looking for a lively spring event on the Costa del Sol, Resident’s Days promises a mix of international flavour, music and community spirit right in the heart of La Carihuela.
