Huge music gathering as Bella Festival lands again in Marbella

Marbella’s homegrown pop and indie gathering is back for round four, and this time it’s spilling into a two-day affair. Bella Festival returns to OMA Sound, continuing a run that’s already pulled in more than 10,000 people at each of its first three outings.

Who is in this year’s lie-up?

Fronting this year’s bill are Lori Meyers, Sexy Zebras and Niña Polaca, with Marlena and Mafalda Cardenal adding their own style to the day. El Verbo Odiado and Oslo Ovnies bring a rockier, more electronic side, while Ochoymedio DJs will keep the mood upbeat and dancing going between sets. Good news that the bill can receive new additions right up to the last minute so music fans could see a few more names turning up before showtime.

The night of Friday, July 31, festival-goers get a bonus, Tardeo XXL, an open-air opening party with DJs Pompa and Petazeta Pop spinning indie, pop, 90s and 00s throwbacks, summer hits and classic reggaeton, a night folded into the regular festival ticket at no extra cost. If you wish to attend just the Friday warm up party you will need a separate ticket.

Why Marbella keeps winning the slot

OMA Sound is an impressive set setup, the site covers more than 80,000 square metres in San Pedro de Alcantara, giving Bella Festival room to run a big crowd without feeling like a cattle pen. It’s not all music, guests can get stuck into food stalls by Mimo Catering “From the Street to the Plate” street-food style including pulled pork burgers, chicken burritos, hot dogs with fried onions and pizzas. A dedicated vegan range featuring soy burgers, vegetable burritos, nachos with guacamole is also on offer. Chill-out zones and VIP areas stretch the event into something closer to a full evening out than a straight run of sets.
