A violent robbery is under police investigation after A 75‑year‑old man in Benalmadena was robbed of his Aston Martin, after two men confronted him outside his home and escaped with the luxury vehicle. Police sources say the high performance vehicle is valued at well over €100,000 depending on the version and equipment.
What happened during the attack
According to investigators, the elderly victim had just stepped out of his property when two individuals allegedly confronted him, took possession of the car, and then fled the scene. Investigators are also trying to determine whether the same thieves stole three high-end watches during the robbery. A precise model of the stolen Aston martin has not been released.
Search for the suspects
Police have not yet identified the two men involved, and no arrests have been made. Detectives continue to work on establishing the full sequence of events and determining whether the robbery is connected to any other recent incidents in the area.
Recent vehicle crime on the Costa del Sol
Just a few months ago, officers dismantled an international criminal network operating in eastern Malaga province that allegedly selected, stole and altered vehicles before selling them on as legitimate across Spain and other European countries, with six people detained during that operation. Further police work in 2025 uncovered organised gangs stealing high‑value cars across the Costa del Sol, where dozens of luxury vehicles worth between €170,000 and €300,000 were recovered. Also in early 2026 there was news of unauthorised “pirate” tow trucks operating in parts of Spain, with drivers pressured into handing over their vehicles during breakdowns, a scam that motoring organisations say has affected areas across Andalucia.
Ongoing investigation
Efforts remain focused on tracing the stolen Aston Martin and verifying whether additional valuables were taken. Police have urged anyone with relevant information to contact investigators as the inquiry continues.
