Fleetwood Mac fans can look forward to an evening of timeless classics when Wild Card brings its Fleetwood Mac tribute show to The Emerald Isle in La Florida.

Starting at 8:00 PM, the band will perform many of the legendary group’s biggest hits, including Go Your Own Way, Don’t Stop, Rhiannon and Landslide.

Wild Card has built a strong following on the Costa Blanca thanks to its energetic tribute shows and talented international line-up. With members from Argentina, Norway and across the UK, the band blends experience, musicianship and stage presence to deliver performances that keep audiences dancing all night.

Wild Card can be seen at The Emerald Isle every Saturday until 21 October, performing from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Status Quo classics come to Ciudad Quesada

Status Quo fans are in for a night of classic rock when tribute band Fakers Quo takes to the stage at The Club in Ciudad Quesada on Sunday, 5 July.

The performance promises an evening packed with the biggest hits from one of Britain’s best-loved rock bands, alongside some of the lesser-known tracks that dedicated Quo fans rarely get to hear performed live.

Made up of lifelong Status Quo enthusiasts, Fakers Quo describe themselves as “just a bunch of Quo fans playing Quo”. Their setlist features favourites such as Rockin’ All Over the World and Caroline, alongside album tracks seldom performed by the original band.

Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the live performance starting at 9:00 PM.

Celebrating legendary British rock

Formed in London in 1967, Fleetwood Mac evolved from a blues band into one of the world’s most successful rock acts, selling more than 100 million records worldwide. Status Quo also became one of Britain’s defining rock bands, earning a reputation for their distinctive boogie-rock sound and decades of chart success.

Whether you prefer Fleetwood Mac’s melodic harmonies or Status Quo’s guitar-driven anthems, these tribute performances offer the chance to relive some of the greatest songs in British rock history while enjoying two popular live music venues on the Costa Blanca.

Overlooking the Mediterranean in La Zenia, this stylish seafront restaurant pairs beautifully presented dishes with panoramic coastal views, making it an ideal choice for a leisurely lunch, a family celebration or a special evening out.

Quality food in a stunning setting

La Galeria de la Mirada is one of those restaurants that combines great food with an excellent location. Situated on the seafront at La Zenia, it offers amazing views of the Mediterranean and a dining experience that is a little different from many restaurants in the area.

This is not the cheapest place to eat, but the quality of the food makes it perfect for a special meal. We visited with family and ordered a range of dishes from across the menu. The oysters to start were outstanding and easily one of the highlights of the meal.

For the main course, our choices included paella and fresh tuna. Every dish was well prepared, nicely presented and full of flavour. It was clear that attention had been paid to both the ingredients and the cooking.

Attentive service and elegant surroundings

The restaurant itself is modern, and everything was spotless. The service throughout the meal was friendly and professional.

The sea views are undoubtedly one of the restaurant’s biggest attractions and add to the overall experience. Whether dining indoors or enjoying the terrace, the setting creates a relaxed atmosphere that encourages guests to take their time and enjoy both the food and the scenery.

The menu offers a good balance of fresh seafood, Mediterranean dishes and traditional favourites, making it easy for groups with different tastes to find something appealing.

Worth booking ahead

La Galeria de la Mirada is open daily. The kitchen serves lunch from 13:00 to 16:00 and dinner from 19:00 to 22:00.

The restaurant is located at Paseo del Mar, 2, La Zenia. To book a table or find out more, call (+34) 865 992 373 or send a WhatsApp message to (+34) 641 319 500.

Music fans on the Costa Blanca have two very different concert experiences to look forward to this summer, with Torrevieja’s celebrated Orfeon choir marking a major anniversary while Alicante hosts a candlelit tribute to one of the world’s most iconic rock bands. Together, the events highlight the diversity of the region’s cultural programme, offering everything from traditional choral music to classical interpretations of modern classics.

Anniversary concert celebrates 19 years of music

The Orfeon choral group will celebrate its 19th anniversary with a special concert at the Municipal Theatre of Torrevieja on Sunday, 5 July, at 8:00 PM.

Founded in 2007, the Orfeon has become one of Torrevieja’s best-known choral groups, playing an important role in the city’s cultural and musical life. Over the years, the choir has performed across Spain while maintaining strong links to Torrevieja’s rich musical traditions.

Audiences can expect a varied programme reflecting the ensemble’s extensive repertoire, which includes classical and sacred music, zarzuela, habaneras and popular favourites.

The anniversary concert will give music lovers the opportunity to celebrate nearly two decades of performances by the city’s respected symphonic-choral group and recognise its contribution to local culture.

Tickets are available from €10 and can be purchased from the theatre box office in Plaza Miguel Hernández.

Queen by Candlelight comes to Alicante

Queen’s greatest hits will be performed in a unique candlelit setting in Alicante next month as the popular Candlelight concert series returns to the city.

Candlelight: Tribute to Queen takes place on Saturday, 4 July, at the auditorium of the Museo Arqueológico de Alicante (MARQ), offering a string quartet interpretation of some of the band’s best-loved songs.

Performed by the Noor Quartet, the 60-minute concert will feature instrumental versions of Queen classics including Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, Somebody to Love, Radio Ga Ga, Don’t Stop Me Now, Killer Queen, Love of My Life, and We Are the Champions.

Part of the internationally successful Candlelight series, the concert combines live classical music with a venue illuminated by hundreds of candles, creating an intimate atmosphere for audiences of all ages.

Do you have what it takes to be Alicante’s next big star? Credit: Alicante Film School.

Aspiring performers and musicians have two exciting opportunities to showcase their talents on the Costa Blanca this year. From a film casting in Alicante to a prestigious young musicians’ competition in Torrevieja, both initiatives are designed to discover emerging talent and provide valuable experience for the next generation of artists.

The spotlight awaits in Alicante

Do you have what it takes to be Alicante’s next star? A new casting call has been launched in Alicante for a feature film set to be filmed in the province this August, with organisers looking for performers with a background in dance.

Human Art Casting will hold an in-person casting session on Sunday, 28 June at 10:00 AM, seeking a flamenco dancer aged between 20 and 25 and a tango couple, with no specific age requirement.

Successful applicants will appear in small scenes within the film, which will feature well-known Argentine actors and be shot in Alicante during August.

Organisers say the roles require performers who are comfortable in front of the camera and have genuine experience in their chosen dance style. The production is looking for the emotion, expression and stage presence associated with both flamenco and tango.

The casting will take place at Calle Doctor Just, 24, Alicante.

Anyone interested must book an appointment in advance by emailing info@humanartcasting.com.

The latest casting follows several previous recruitment sessions organised by Human Art Casting for the same production, including searches for child actors, character performers and supporting roles.

Rising stars of tomorrow

Young musicians from across Spain and abroad are being invited to enter Torrevieja’s III Francisco Casanovas Young Music Talents Competition, with entries now open until 10 October.

The competition aims to support and promote the next generation of performers while honouring one of Torrevieja’s most respected musical figures.

The contest is open to musicians aged between 10 and 20 who are studying at conservatories, music schools or learning independently, provided they have not yet entered higher music education.

Participants can compete in piano, woodwind, brass, percussion, strings, chamber music and singing across three age categories.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each category, ranging from €100 to €250, alongside a series of special awards named after prominent figures from Torrevieja’s musical history. A special Francisco Casanovas Prize, worth €300, will also be presented for the best performance of a work by a Spanish composer.

Celebrating future talent

A panel of professional musicians will assess competitors on technical ability, musicality, expression and interpretation.

The qualifying rounds will take place on 6 and 7 November, with the grand final scheduled for 8 November at the Palacio de la Música in Torrevieja.

Both initiatives highlight the Costa Blanca’s ongoing commitment to supporting creativity and nurturing emerging talent. Whether through film, dance or music, young performers are being given opportunities to gain experience, develop their skills and showcase their abilities in front of professional audiences.

Full competition rules and entry forms are available through the Municipal Institute of Culture’s electronic headquarters.
