Barry Tabrizi examines how Maricarmen Abascal’s death has made the housing crisis a central issue in Spain politics ahead of the November 29 election.
Miriam Gonzalez, an international trade lawyer who married the ex-Liberal Democrats leader in 2000, unveiled Democracia 21 at a rally in Madrid.
Abascal is expected to be joined by Manuel Gavira, Vox’s leader in Andalucia and second vice-president of the Junta de Andalucia.
An alliance between the conservative Partido Popular (PP) and hard-right Vox would sweep up 50.8% of the vote if the election were held today, polls show.
