Fleetwood Mac Classics Come to Hondon de las Nieves

Fleetwood Mac fans are in for a treat next month as tribute band Wild Card brings the music of the legendary rock group to Tipsy Terrace in Hondon de las Nieves.

The concert takes place on Wednesday 10 June as part of the venue’s popular Summer of Music programme and promises an evening packed with classic Fleetwood Mac favourites that have stood the test of time.

Guests can expect many of the band’s biggest hits performed live, making it a must for fans of one of rock music’s most successful and enduring acts.

Torrevieja Fashion Weekend Returns

Torrevieja is set for a stylish start to June as the fourth Torrevieja Fashion Weekend returns on 5 and 6 June, bringing fashion, music, gastronomy and entertainment to the city centre.

The popular event will once again transform Paseo Vista Alegre and Plaza de la Constitución into an open-air showcase of local businesses, designers and performers, with organisers expecting thousands of visitors across the two days.

Fashion will take centre stage with catwalk shows, designer presentations and the popular Fashion Sunset event, combining the latest trends with Torrevieja’s seafront setting. Local businesses will also have the opportunity to present their collections and products.

The celebrations are already underway at Habaneras Shopping Centre. Until 8 June, visitors can view Verde, the latest collection by Spanish designer Eduardo Navarrete, on the second floor of the shopping centre.

Those visiting the exhibition will also be entered into a draw to win a handbag from Navarrete’s newest collection.

Alongside the fashion, visitors can enjoy live music, entertainment and a wide range of food and drink options from local businesses.

Hidden oasis in Almoradí: Discovering the unique charm of Gastro Moon Restaurante.

A Surprising Tropical Escape in the Heart of Town

We recently visited Gastro Moon Restaurante in Almoradí, and from the outside, you would never expect to find such a lovely and unusual venue hidden away in the middle of town. What appears to be an ordinary location quickly reveals itself as something quite special once you step inside.

The restaurant has been designed to create a welcoming and relaxing environment, with tropical plants, attractive water features, colourful wall art and plenty of comfortable seating areas. The attention to detail is evident throughout, giving the venue a distinctive character that sets it apart from many other local restaurants. There is also an outdoor kitchen, which adds to the social atmosphere and allows diners to see some of the food preparation taking place.

Fresh Food, Friendly Service and Lively Evenings

One of the strengths of Gastro Moon is the variety offered on the menu. There is genuinely something for everyone, whether you are looking for sushi, gourmet burgers, traditional Spanish dishes or vegetarian options. This makes it an excellent choice for groups where everyone has different tastes.

The food we sampled was fresh, well presented and full of flavour. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and it was clear that care had been taken with both the preparation and presentation of each dish.

What stood out most during our visit was the quality of the service. The staff were friendly, attentive and approachable throughout the evening. They struck the perfect balance between being available when needed and allowing guests to enjoy their meal without interruption. Their relaxed and welcoming attitude helped create an enjoyable dining experience from start to finish.

As the evening progresses, Gastro Moon takes on a different character. Connected to the restaurant is a stylish cocktail bar where guests can continue their evening in a more vibrant setting. Later in the night, music and entertainment help create a lively atmosphere that appeals to both locals and visitors.

What we liked most about Gastro Moon was that it felt stylish without trying too hard. It combines good food, attentive service and a unique setting to create an experience that feels both comfortable and memorable. Whether you are planning a family meal, a night out with friends or a relaxed dinner for two, Gastro Moon is well worth a visit.

Booking is Highly Recommended

I would definitely recommend booking ahead, especially at weekends when the venue is particularly popular.

Gastro Moon Restaurante is located on Calle San José in Almoradí. Reservations can be made by calling (+34) 613 010 333.

Costa Blanca space industry puts Elche on Europe’s aerospace map

The Costa Blanca is becoming known for far more than beaches, golf resorts and tourism, with Elche now emerging as one of Spain’s most surprising high-tech success stories.

The city is home to PLD Space, the aerospace company leading Spain’s growing role in Europe’s modern space race and helping place the Costa Blanca firmly on the continent’s technology map.

The company attracted international attention after successfully launching Miura-1, Europe’s first fully private rocket, marking a major milestone for both Spain and the wider European aerospace industry.

PLD Space driving Spain’s growing role in Europe’s space sector

PLD Space is now moving ahead with the development of Miura-5, a much larger reusable rocket designed to carry satellites into orbit as global demand for communications, internet services, defence systems and scientific research continues to increase rapidly.

What makes the story particularly remarkable is that much of this advanced engineering and development work is taking place directly from Elche.

For a region internationally recognised mainly for sunshine and holiday tourism, the rise of a major space technology company is creating a very different image of the Costa Blanca.

The company has already attracted hundreds of millions of euros in investment as Spain looks to strengthen Europe’s independent launch capabilities and reduce reliance on foreign space providers.

Industry experts believe the long-term impact could include highly skilled employment, international investment opportunities and new technology partnerships across Alicante province.

Elche is emerging as an unexpected technology hub on the Costa Blanca

Local officials and business leaders also believe the success of PLD Space could help inspire future generations of engineers, scientists and technology companies across the region.

As future launches move closer and the company continues expanding, Elche may increasingly become recognised not only for its palm groves and nearby beaches, but also as one of Europe’s rising aerospace and innovation hubs.

The success of PLD Space is already helping transform perceptions of the Costa Blanca far beyond tourism alone.
