Love Island returns to Mallorca as glam new cast is revealed ahead of summer series

The firepit is polished, the neon signs are glowing and the flirting is almost ready to begin as Love Island returns to Mallorca for another sizzling summer series.

With excitement already building among fans, ITV has unveiled a revamped version of the iconic villa that will once again become the backdrop for heartbreak, head-turns and the inevitable “I’ve got a text!” chaos that dominates British television every summer.

Hosted once again by Maya Jama, the hit reality show is set to return in early June, bringing a fresh line-up of singles to the island in search of romance – or at the very least a brand partnership by the end of the season.

Mallorca takes centre stage again

For another year, Mallorca will play a starring role in one of the UK’s biggest television exports, with the island’s dreamy sunsets and luxury lifestyle helping create the perfect setting for romance.

The newly redesigned villa keeps its signature Mediterranean style but adds bold new colours, upgraded lounging areas and more playful design touches throughout. The famous firepit area now features striking blue tones, while the interiors combine soft pinks, greens and warm earthy shades that feel more boutique hotel than reality TV set.

There are refreshed terraces, hidden corners for private chats and enough daybeds to guarantee at least three dramatic conversations before breakfast.

The outdoor areas remain the true stars of the show though. From the oversized pool to the terrace where islanders gather every evening, the villa is once again designed for maximum sunshine and maximum drama.

And somewhere among the palm trees, there is probably already a producer preparing the season’s first “can I pull you for a chat?” moment.

Where will the islanders date this year?

Part of the fun for Mallorca viewers is spotting the locations featured throughout the series.

Previous seasons have showcased everything from luxury yachts and beach clubs to mountain hideaways and sunset restaurants, giving international audiences a glossy glimpse of life on the island.

Fans are already wondering where this year’s couples could be heading for dates. Will producers choose a romantic dinner overlooking the Tramuntana mountains? A private boat trip along the coast? Perhaps cocktails in Palma’s old town or a beach picnic at sunset?

Mallorca certainly has no shortage of cinematic locations for budding romances – even if many relationships tend to last shorter than a Magaluf happy hour.

A huge boost for Mallorca’s image

While the show is famous for its recouplings and dramatic exits, it also shines a major international spotlight on Mallorca every summer.

Millions of viewers across the UK and beyond tune in nightly, with the island becoming synonymous with sunshine, glamour and escapism. For many British tourists, Love Island has become part of Mallorca’s modern image, sitting somewhere between luxury holidays and reality-TV fantasy, and of course helps boost tourism.

Restaurants, hotels and local businesses often benefit from the extra attention surrounding the programme, particularly as social media fills with clips and villa discussions throughout the season.

Countdown to the villa opening

With the launch date of June 1 fast approaching, fans are already speculating about the new contestants, potential twists and which couples will survive the inevitable Casa Amor test.

One thing is certain… Mallorca is once again ready for a summer filled with slow-motion pool walks, awkward morning debriefs and enough fake tan to rival the Balearic sunset itself.

And as the villa lights switch on for another season, the island once again finds itself at the centre of Britain’s biggest summer obsession.
