Orihuela’s Tardeada indie music festival returns for its second edition on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at the Los Huertos fairground.

Following a debut in 2025 that attracted more than 12,000 people during the main festival days, organisers are expanding the event with two stages, food and social areas, and a line-up combining established performers with emerging and local talent.

Crystal Fighters headline two-day indie festival

International band Crystal Fighters heads this year’s line-up, with a wide selection of Spanish artists also appearing across the two days.

Alvaro de Luna, Xoel Lopez, Zahara Rave, Funambulista, Karavana, Samurai and Amatria are among those scheduled to perform, alongside Juanca DJ Set Supersubmarina.

Local and emerging artists will also be given space on the programme, while the introduction of two stages will allow organisers to expand the amount of live music available during the festival.

Tardeada is being held at the Los Huertos fairground as part of Orihuela’s September celebrations for the Virgen de Monserrate.

Friday admission will be completely free

One of the most significant changes for the second edition is free admission on Friday, September 18.

The arrangement will allow anyone to visit the festival site and enjoy that day’s programme without having to purchase a ticket.

Organisers are also expanding the facilities around the music itself, with dedicated food and social areas intended to make Tardeada a wider two-day festival experience.

Orihuela Town Hall hopes the event can establish itself as a regular fixture in the city’s September calendar following the response to its inaugural edition.

First Tardeada attracted more than 12,000 people

More than 12,000 people attended during the main days of the first Tardeada festival in 2025.

The council said the event also brought wider benefits to Orihuela, with increased activity reported among hotels, restaurants and other local businesses.

Organisers estimated that approximately €2.1 million in economic activity was generated around the 2025 festival.

Rock fans can enjoy three hours of classic rock and blues when The Smokin Joe Band takes over Guardamar Park Social Club on Sunday, September 20.

The live session runs from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with the band promising an early evening packed with guitar-led music associated with some of the biggest names in British and American rock. Admission costs €5.

The line-up features Woody alongside drummer Lee Donovan, known from the Desperados, and guitarist Paul Saunders, who has previously performed with The Smokin Joe Band in the UK.

Together, the musicians will deliver a three-hour live session aimed firmly at fans of classic rock and blues.

With the performance beginning at 5:00 PM and continuing until 8:00 PM, the Sunday event offers the chance to enjoy a full evening’s worth of live music without the late-night finish that often comes with rock shows.

Admission is priced at €5 per person.

Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake and Deep Purple favourites feature in classic rock set

The band’s set will draw on music associated with some of the best-known names in British and American rock, covering several decades of familiar material.

Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake and Deep Purple are among the acts represented, alongside music associated with Gary Moore, Robert Palmer, ZZ Top, Free and Bryan Adams.

The selection brings together rock, blues and guitar-driven favourites, providing plenty of familiar material for audiences who grew up with the bands and artists featured in the show.

The Classic Rock & Blues Night continues Guardamar Park Social Club’s programme of live entertainment and social activities.

Sunday afternoon show runs from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in Guardamar del Segura

The performance takes place at Guardamar Park Social Club, formerly known as The Bar, at Kilometro 2.5 on the CV-920 in Guardamar del Segura.

The venue regularly hosts live entertainment and social events, with the September 20 show particularly aimed at classic rock and blues fans.

Doors and other venue arrangements can be checked directly with the club, while the live music itself is scheduled to run from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

San Miguel de Salinas will be in fiesta mode throughout September, with live music, family entertainment, food, parades and traditional celebrations leading up to the feast of San Miguel on September 29.

Although festivities began earlier in the month, the main programme gets under way on Saturday, September 12, beginning several weeks of events before celebrations continue into October.

Rocket launch and foam party get the main San Miguel fiestas under way

The main programme begins on Saturday, September 12, with the traditional rocket launch outside the Town Hall at 5:00 PM.

The opening will be followed by a foam party and DJs in Plaza de la Libertad, setting the tone for a busy programme aimed at different ages.

The following weekend brings a neighbourhood dinner and street decoration competition, alongside the official fiesta proclamation and coronation. Bella Donna will provide live music as the celebrations gather pace.

Food will also have its place in the programme, with the town’s 16th Tapas Route giving residents and visitors an opportunity to try dishes prepared by participating local businesses.

Children’s activities, water slide and 80s music fill the fiesta programme

Family entertainment continues throughout the festivities with inflatables, traditional games and children’s activities among the events planned.

A fire and light show will add to the programme before September 24 brings Children’s Day, when reduced-price fairground rides will be available.

The following day, September 25, a giant water slide will take over Calle Torrevieja, providing another attraction for families.

The entertainment will continue into the evening with a celebration of 80s music.

One of the biggest nights arrives on Saturday, September 26, when the grand float and fancy dress parade makes its way through San Miguel de Salinas.

The parade will be followed by free pizza and music as the town heads into the final days before its main fiesta.

San Miguel feast day brings fireworks, Mass and traditional procession

September 29 is the main fiesta day and will begin with a morning street band and hot chocolate.

Children’s and main fireworks displays are planned during the day, while the religious programme will include Mass and the traditional procession in honour of San Miguel.

The feast day forms the centrepiece of a programme combining the municipality’s traditions with entertainment, food and activities for families.

The celebrations will not end with September. A paella competition is planned for October 4, extending the festivities into the following month.

San Miguel de Salinas will finally bring its 2026 fiesta programme to a close on October 7, ending several weeks of celebrations across the town.
