Organised by the local Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the event begins at 10:30 AM from the Huerto del Cura Park. Participants will follow a route through Bigastro before returning to the park for further activities.

The €10 registration fee includes the official event T-shirt, a bottle of water, nuts and other items.

Registration remains open until October 25

Registration remains open until October 25, while those already signed up can collect their T-shirts from the AECC office at Calle Mayor 5 between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Funds raised will support cancer research and the AECC’s work assisting patients and their families throughout diagnosis and treatment.

The annual march gives residents an opportunity to show their support together while helping raise money for the organisation’s continuing work.

Charity raffle supports cancer fundraising

A charity raffle will also form part of the event, with prizes donated by local businesses.

Tickets cost €1 and are available from the AECC office and participating businesses around Bigastro.

After the walk, activities will continue at the Huerto del Cura Park with workshops and the raffle, extending the event beyond the morning’s route through the town.

A charity evening of mediumship in Playa Flamenca will raise money to help abandoned and mistreated animals cared for by Finca La Castellana Animal Welfare Centre. Spiritual medium Ang Ham will host the event at Willow Cafe on Thursday, October 29, with proceeds supporting a rescue centre that has helped more than 3,000 animals since opening.

Ang Ham hosts charity mediumship evening

Spiritual medium Ang Ham will host a charity evening of mediumship at Willow Cafe in Playa Flamenca on Thursday, October 29, raising money for Finca La Castellana Animal Welfare Centre.

Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the demonstration running from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Tickets cost €15, with booking recommended.

Ang Ham promises to bring messages from the spirit world. Whether visitors hope for a message from a loved one or are simply curious about mediumship, the demonstration offers an opportunity to experience spiritual connections.

Fundraiser supports Finca La Castellana animals

The beneficiary, Finca La Castellana, is a non-profit animal charity based near San Miguel de Salinas. It began rescuing animals in 2000 and became a registered charity in 2009. More than 3,000 animals have since passed through its gates.

The centre rescues animals that have been abandoned, mistreated or dumped. Some animals with health or behavioural problems remain permanently at the finca when rehoming is not considered suitable.

This means the charity not only helps animals while new homes are sought, but also provides continuing care for those unable to be rehomed.

Animal centre needs more than €3,000 monthly

Running the centre requires more than €3,000 each month for food, veterinary treatment, animal care and other costs, making fundraising events an important source of support.

Events such as the Playa Flamenca mediumship evening give local residents another way to contribute towards those ongoing costs while supporting the centre’s animal welfare work.

Tickets available from Willow Cafe

The mediumship evening takes place at Willow Cafe, Carrer Alhelies, Playa Flamenca, 03189.

To reserve tickets, call Helen on (+44) 7793 141160. Tickets can also be purchased behind the bar.
